October College Visits
November College Visists

Boo Bash:
Volunteers are needed for Lake Elementary's "Boo Bash" on October 27th. Volunteers will run the game stations. If you're interested, email Tiffany Sharpe at tiffanysharpe@gmail.com


Lake Health Internships:
Mentor High School has partnered with Lake Health to be offer 2 Internship to seniors during second semester. The internships will be in the field of Primary Care and Sports Medicine. Applications are available online and in the Unit 12 Office. Applications are due November 10.


College Applications:
ATTENTION SENIORS PLANNING TO GO TO COLLEGE! Most applictions for college should be done by Halloween. Remember that all MHS applications are processed through Naviance. See your counselor with questions. Two weeks or more should be allowed for letters of rec.

Drivers Ed:
The next Drivers' Ed course starts on November 6. Classes start after school at 2:45 in Lecture Room B. Pick up a Drivers' Ed flyer at the Bookstore for details and registration information. Or, go to: www.NationalDriverTrainingOhio.com/mentor


CCP:
ATTENTION CCP STUDENTS: Academic advisors from Lakeland Community College will come to MHS to register students for the spring semester on the following dates: October 16th, October 18th, October 31st, and November 2nd. Advisors will be located in the Upper HUB and students may register during any free mod. Bring your CCP Registration Authorization Form that was mailed home to you. If you are unsure of what classes you should take please see your school counselor.


College Reps:
Representatives from these colleges will be visiting MHS this week: Univ. of Dayton, Marietta, Xavier, Waynesburg, Univ. of Akron, Oberlin and Clarion Univ. (PA). If you'd like to attend any of these meetings, sign up through Naviance.


LEAF Advisor:
9th and 10th grade families are invited to attend: Demystifying College and the Financial Aid Process Tuesday Oct. 24th at 7:00 pm in Fine Arts. This program will include the financial aid process, college costs and alternative options which may reduce the costs of post secondary education.


College Rep Visits:
Representatives from Baldwin Wallace, Youngstown State, Heidelberg and University of Cincinnati will be visiting MHS this week. If you'd like to attend any of these meetings, signup through Naviance.


New Scholarships 10/19/17:
Seniors, there are 3 new scholarships. Stop by the Guidance Office for more information. Or signup to receive the scholarship email blast on www.mentorhigh.com.

Football:CARDINAL COMEBACK CRUSHES COMETS:
The Mentor Cardinal Football team came from an 11 point deficit to shock the Solon Comets 38-34. The Cards scored with 43 seconds left in regulation to pull out the victory! Mentor started the scoring with a Chris Edmond 5 yard TD. Conor McIntosh then kicked a 27 yard field goal giving the Cards a 10-7 lead after the first quarter. Next, Tadas Tatarunas hit Luke Floria for a 44 yard score followed by another McIntosh FG of 24 yards. The Cards held a 20-14 lead heading into the halftime locker room. Mentor gave up 20 points to Solon in the 3rd quarter but scored 11 point themselves to keep them within striking range. McIntosh hit his 3rd FG on the night with a 34 yarder. And then with 2:13 left in the third quarter, Solon scored to put them up 34-23. Mentor then turned on the jets by scoring 2 TD's in the final quarter with the game winner coming on a Tatarunas to Logan Shea 10 yard TD. Whew ... that was exciting! Come join us next week when the Euclid Panthers (7-1) visit the JTO on Friday, October 20th at 7 pm to take on your
