Military Academy Information Day:
Students interested in attending one of the U.S. Military Academies after graduation are invited to an information night at Auburn Career Center on Sat. Sept. 27 at 9:30AM; meeting will be held in the Technology Learning Bldg. 8221 Auburn Rd. The meeting will be hosted by Congressman Dave Joyce. Representatives from all of the academies will be there to discuss admission requirements, opportunities and timelines.
NEONI's Healthcare Career Shadowing Program:
Students interested in shadowing a medical profressional are invited to participate in the NEONI Shadowing Program. Info in Guidance A114 or at: http://www.chanet.org/WorkforceNEONI/BecomeAHealthcareProfessional/HealthcareCareerShadowing.aspx
Lakeland Community College Fair:
Lakeland Community College is hositng a College Fair on Sunday, Oct. 5 from noon-2:00PM in their Fitness Center. There will be representatives from over 100 colleges attending. Don't miss out on this great opportunity.
LEAF will hold 2 free sessions for high school seniors and their parents regarding the College Admissions Application process on September 24, 2014 at 6:30 PM and October 1, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the LEAF Resource Center, 8221 Auburn Road in Concord. College Admissions Representatives from various types of schools will address all of your questions regarding the college admissions process, including procedures as well as common mistakes students make on college admissions applications. Representatives from Case Western Reserve University, John Carroll University, University of Akron, Cleveland State University, Lake Erie College, and Lakeland Community College will serve on the panel. PSEO English Naviance Meetings:
There will be two informational Naviance meetings for all seniors who take PSEO English at Lakeland this year. The meetings will go over how to request transcripts, letters of recommendation, and how to link your common app to Naviance. Please plan on attending one of the two informational sessions to help familiarize yourself with Naviance on Tuesday, September 23 @ 7 am or Wednesday, September 24 @ 2:30 pm in A-Lecture.

Football:Taming the Tigers:
The Mentor Cardinals continued their winning ways with a 54-7 taming of the Twinsburg Tigers. Mentor (3-0) scored the first 54 points of the game. Recall that the Cards had scored the last 90 consecutive points against the Tigers. Add in tonight's 54 points and that means Mentor scored 144 straight points before the Tigers scored with 2:35 left in tonight's game. 144-7 over the past 3 games against Twinsburg!!! Mentor scoring started with a Jake Floria 1 yard TD run. Floria then hit Eddie Daugherty for a 17 yard TD. Daugherty followed that with a score from 9 yards out. The first quarter ended 27-0 when Floria hit Malik Porter with a 26 yard strike. Alex Mathews got into the act with back-to-back TD runs of 35 yards and 1 yard. Floria hit Jason Blizzard with a 14 yard TD pass giving the Cards a 48-0 halftime lead. Mentor's final score came in the 4th quarter with an Isaiah Gullick 2 yard TD run. Join us next week as our home stand continues when the Brush Arcs visit the JTO on Friday, September 26th for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff. GO CARDS!
Gymnastis: If any students is interested in or has previously done high school gymnastics, you should attend the meeting being held at Lake Erie Gymnastics School on Sunday, September 21 at 7 pm. If you have any questions, please call Megan Mertz at Lake Erie Gymnastics School or fine Jordan Beebe or Maddy Marshall sometime in school. We are looking forward to another outstanding season!
