Congratulations to the members of the Mentor Science Olympiad team as they won 2nd place and qualified for the state tournement at the regional competition at Case Western Reserve University.  Congratulations to Memorial and Ridge for also qualifying for the state competition.

The Lake Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation (LEAF) helps students and their families plan for post secondary education. You can access the newsletter online thanks to MHS advisor Jane Csaszar.

In order to provide parents with the timeliest notification of school cancellations, Mentor Public Schools will now telephone all parents directly in the case of a snow day or other calamity. Using the automated AlertNow calling system, all parents in the district will receive notification within minutes of a decision being made to call school with a recorded message indicating the reason for the closing and other relevant information. This new procedure will not only provide a convenient service for parents, but will also allow the district to test and refine the emergency alert system so that it will function as well as possible if a critical emergency ever arises. The system will call one or more numbers on file for your family until a person or voicemail answers the call. If you do not receive a call or would like to change the number that is called, please contact the building secretary at your child’s school.

The state of Ohio requires vision and hearing screenings for all 9th grade students. Your child will be called to the clinic some time from now until June for these screenings. If you have any questions you may call the clinic at 974-5340.

The following are the MHS PTSA Meetings for the 08-09 school year.  They are on Wednesdays in the Lower Learning Center at 7:00pm.
