WELCOME
The Speech & Debate team teaches students to deliver speeches, debate issues, and interpret literature through participation in 10 tournaments beginning in October. Students compete against other teams from area high schools at weekly tournaments, a state tournament in March, and if they qualify, a national tournament in June. The team is open to anyone who wants to improve his/her public speaking ability, research skills, or argumentation skills. Practice is held two to three times each week starting at the end of September. Days of the meetings are based on which events you want to compete in.
