Meeting Minutes:
I. Bloodmobile- Friday, November 13
II. Red Cross Changes for Bloodmobile
A. Donors can be 16 years old, but they need to fill out a permission slip
B. There are strict height vs weight restrictions (chart)
C. Therefore we have more students at MHS that are old enough to donate, but there are more restrictions now
1. During signups, which will begin Wednesday, November 4 during lunch mods:
a. Donors will sign up for a time slot
b. They will be given a pass
c. They will need to fill out a permission slip if 16 yrs
d. We will have to check their age
e. They will have to check to make sure they are eligible (according to chart)
III. Theme: Wizard of Oz (thank you Mr. Couch!)
A. Promoting
1. Motto: "There is no place like Bloodmobile"
2. Brain, Courage, & Heart
a. Find your inner lion, come donate…
3. Posters involving the lion, scarecrow, tinman, Dorothy
4. "I am not a witch at all. I am a blood donor."
5. "I am off to donate blood" ( I am off to see the wizard)
6. Oz announcements (ask Mr. Spiccia)
7. Dress up (as characters) and be in Homecoming Parade to promote???
B. Decorations
1. Yellow brick road- made out of donor names
2. Decorate Fine Arts Center as the path of the story
a. Fine Art doors: Emerald City
b. Toto
c. House with wicked witch's feet
3. Costumes
IV. Future Bloodmobile Meetings: October 8, October 22, & October 29 @2:30 in F102
A. Next meeting: Thursday, October 8 @ 2:30 in F102
1. Bring additional ideas
2. We will break into teams: promotional, decorations, & video
B. Bloodmobile signups will be Wednesday, November 4 - Thursday, November 12
1. All members should be helping man the bloodmobile sign-up table during these two weeks
