The Varsity Football Team is looking for 2 responsible students to film games and some practices for the upcoming season. Both positions will be paid. Anyone interested please see Coach Trivisonno.
Wrestling: May 10, 2012
There will be a meeting for all high school wrestlers and their parents on Wednesday May 16th at 7pm in A lecture. Come meet the new coach and get plans for the summer. Contact the MHS athletic office with any questions.
Boys Soccer: May 1, 2012
There will be a meeting for all boys soccer team members after school at 2:30pm in C lecture on Thursday May 3. The meeting will be brief please plan on attending

Tomislav Derezic is one of the seniors to handle kicking duty in this year's News Herald Senior Bowl. It is scheduled for June 22nd at the JTO Stadium at Mentor High School. Watch for the announcement for more players. http://news-herald.com/articles
Fast Pitch: March 28, 2012
Congratulations to the Mentor High girls fastpitch softball team. They opened the season with a 1 - 0 conference win over 2011 State Semi-finalist Elyria. Lyndsey Valvoda had a 1st inning RBI double to give the Lady Cards the lead. That proved to be all they needed behind a complete game 4 hit shut out from Alex Manno with a very solid team defense backing her up. Way to go Lady Cards!
Boys Basketball: March 26, 2012
Congratulations to senior boys basketball player, Justin Fritts, as he was named Mr. Basketball for the State of Ohio for 2012. This award is given to the top basketball player in the state according to the writers of the associated press in Ohio.

The Cardinals ended their season last night, losing to Warren G. Harding High School in the Regional Semi-Finals by a score of 56-54. It was a battle between both teams the entire game and came down to the final seconds. The Cardinals were lead by Justin Fritts with 22, followed by Caleb Potter (14) and Danny Wallack (9). The Cardinals had a great season; ending with a 22-3 record. Records were made and many boys received awards for their accomplishments. WE ARE PROUD!
Gymnastics: March 13, 2012
Congratulations to Mentor High Schools first ever all around Gymnastics State Champion Kayla Kosmerl. Kayla scored a 1st place on Bars at 9.55, a 4th place on Floor exercise at 9.375, a 2nd place on beam at 9.3, and a 3rd place on vault at 9.650 to have a total all-around score of 37.875 to bring home the state championship! Again this is the first time in school history that one of our gymnasts won the individual all-around competition. Also, competing in the individual competitions on Saturday were Alex Aiello and Allie Arthur. Alex was state runner up on the vault scoring a 9.675 and 10th on Floor and Allie finished 10th on bars, 25th on beam and 17th on Vault. Please join me in congratulating these young ladies
