Dropkick Murphys newest album, “The Meanest of Times”(Born & Bred Records) was released on September 18th. The first single from the album, “The State of Massachusetts” is rebellious and meaningful as are the other fifteen tracks.

Chase The Light” is the sixth album of Jimmy Eats World. It was released on October 16th. The alternative-pop sounding band has eleven new tracks, the first single being “Big Casino”. The record was recorded on “Interscope”.

Sean Kingston, the newcomer to the music business from Jamaica has fourteen new sounding songs that combine reggae, hip-hop, pop, and doo-op. The album, “Sean Kingston [Enhanced]” is Kingston’s first CD by himself, he is known to have been apart of many other collaborations. Most of the songs are inspired by his mother and sister. Sean’s record was recorded on the “Beluga Heights, Epic, and Koch” label.

“Carnival Ride”, Carrie Underwood’s new album, came out on October second. This is a country album, but some of Carrie’s songs have a ‘popish’ feel. Her songs are all about the past couple years of her life. This American Idol veteran has had many hit songs in the past; the newest one is “So Small” and is included on this album along with thirteen other tracks. “Carnival Ride” was released on the record label “Arista”. If you like Carrie’s CD you might like Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Sugarland, or Kelly Pickler.

“Graduation”, Kanye West’s new album beat “Curtis” 50 Cent’s new album in the first week of sales by 266,000 copies. West’s sound on this CD is just like his other two in the trilogy, a mix between rap and hip-hop. The album was released on September eleventh. Kanye has thirteen tracks total on the album and the first single is titled “Stronger”. “Generation” was released on “Island Def Jam” and “Roc-A-Fella” records. If you like the trilogy Kanye created you might want to check out Jay-Z, OutKast, 50 Cent, Nas, Common, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, and The Game.

“Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace” Foo Fighters new album, was released September twenty-fifth. The Foo Fighters are a great rock band and have been around since 1995. In my opinion the solo, “The Pretender” is one of the best songs of 2007, there also eleven other tracks on the album. The songs are powerful, loud, and there are meanings behind some tracks. “RCA”, the record company put out “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace”. Some other bands that are similar are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Audioslave, Weezer, The Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, Nirvana, and Queens of the Stone Age.

Bands to look out for:
The Kooks, Muse, Modest Mouse, Sparta, The Black Keys, Weezer, The Saints, Feist, and Damien Rice.
