Courtyard Construction

Fans are spinning uncontrollably overhead as sweat begins to form on your upper lip. Not only that, but your crush is on their way over, and you definitely have serious pit stains. The cafeteria can be brutal, but then the doors open and a rush of cool air enters as you remember the shady trees of the courtyard... wait, where’d the trees go?
The trees have been removed for renovations. No, it’s not a new classroom or a cafeteria extension. It’s for a new and improved courtyard! Mr. Diamond was excited to announce that Mentor High is planning to construct a new courtyard. This fabulous new courtyard will be funded by contributions from alumni, the MHS PTA, the junior high PTAs, and class gifts to the school (wink, wink class of ’08). The trees have been removed so that the whole area can be re-leveled and re-paved. Don’t worry tree huggers, there are plans to spruce up the cement with a small green space and plants such as dwarf trees and shrubs.
The new courtyard is planned to have mesh-like rubber picnic tables, perfect for outdoor dining, and of course the tables will be fashionably sporting red and grey.
It is not known at this time what will happen to the preschool play area but what is known is that the courtyard was in desperate need of sprucing up and will, literally, be a breath of fresh air.
