Science Olympiad 2007:5th at Nationals




Opening Ceremonies at Koch Area, Wichita State Unviersity

Mentor's Science Olympiad team finished their first national competition May 17 - 20th in Wichita. Mentor proudly took the stage to receive the 5th place trophy. 60 teams representing 45 states participated. Over 14,000 school participate nationwide making this what the Wall Street Journal call the most prestigious science and engineering competiton of its kind.

The team received medals in 8 events including: 1st in five Star Science, 2nd in Designer Genes, 3rd in Circuit Lab, Remote Sensing, and Write it/Do it., 4th in Sounds of Music and Food Science and 6th in Experimental Design.

In addition to the medals, the first place finishers also received scholarships from Witchita State University, well known for i Aerospace program.
