In addition, they won first place in the Team Spirit event. The Mentor team tied with Lake Catholic for first place in the spins events and won first place in the showcase event. The competition was held yesterday at Pavilion Ice Arena in Cleveland Heights. The girls on the Mentor High Figure Skating Team from Mentor High School are seniors Alex Stanley and Kelly Weber and sophomores Allie Gamber, Colleen Higgins and Heather Langguth. Dollars for Darfur is a fundraising program High Schools are participating in across the nation. It is rasing money for the Save Darfur organization who are a group of people trying to help save the people of Darfur. They are experiencing Genocide from the Sudanese Army and a milita backed by the Sudanese goverment. The people of Darfur are suffering from rape, starvation, and murder by the hundreds on a daily basis. If you would like to learn more and contribute to this good cause please click here.
