The totals are in for our 2007 Harvest 4 Hunger collection, and the United Way reports that we collected and packed 10,000 pounds of food this year. They are grateful for the donation, and Student Government would like to thank the staff and students for their efforts.
Our winning sophomore/junior who brought in the most food for our Student Government reward was Samantha Kelly with 43 pounds of food. The senior couple who won the prom package was Sean Mohler and Sarah Haught with 71 pounds of food. Sean collected his food in one hour by soliciting donations in his neighborhood and spent only his time instead of his dimes.

2006-2007 Yearbooks are almost gone!
There are only 45 yearbooks left for the 06-07 School Year. If you would like one and have not yet ordered one you must act fast. The only way to order one now is to go to www.jostens.com Also, there will be absolutely no yearbooks sold at the bookstore this year, or in the future.
Yearbooks will again be distributed at our second annual yearbook signing party on Thursday, May 31st from 7pm-9pm.

This Thursday, April 5, there will be only a half day of school. It will last from mods 1-8, and no lunch will be served.

Figure Skating Team
The Mentor High School Figure Sakting Team won 2nd place overall in the 2007 Ohio High School Team Figure Skating Competition on Sunday, February 18, 2007. In addition, they won first place in the Team Spirit event. The Mentor team tied with Lake Catholic for first place in the spins events and won first place in the showcase event. The competition was held yesterday at Pavilion Ice Arena in Cleveland Heights.
The girls on the Mentor High Figure Skating Team from Mentor High School are seniors Alex Stanley and Kelly Weber and sophomores Allie Gamber, Colleen Higgins and Heather Langguth. Be sure to congratulate them!

Thank you all who contributed!!
Many, many thanks to all that contributed to the Darfur fundraiser. In the lunchroom we earned about 500 dollars, and 280 dollars from the website. The DollarsforDarfur fundraiser at Mentor High is now over, but you can still go to www.savedarfur.org to get involved and try to find some more locals that are supporting the cause.

Have any old Prom dresses? Girl Scout Troop 1152 and the Thea Bowman Center are collecting dresses to donate to the inner-city Cleveland girls for their prom.

Science Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Mrs. Becky Haller, a biology teacher at Wickliffe High School, and wife of Detective Haller, for winning the Lubrizol Science teacher of the year award. Also, congratulations to our own Mr. Ramsey for achieving runner-up and also receiving a $500.00 reward for the Science Olympiad team.
