The Football Cardinals held their ground and defeated a good Massillon Tiger team 19-7. This raises the Cardinal record to 4-1. After a scoreless half, Massillon pooched their second half kickoff only to recover the ball at the Mentor 35 yard line. 6 plays later, Massillon took the lead 7-0. The Cardinals could have hung their heads after this turnover and subsequent Massillon score .... but the Cardinals persevered and ran off the next 19 points. The Mentor scoring started with a Bart Tanski to Brandon James 7 yard strike. Bill Deitmen then ran a 2 yard score followed by a Tanski 3 yard TD.
