Cardinal Football Takes a Fall
The Football Cardinals lost their first game of the season at the hands of the St. Ignatius Wildcats 27-14. The Cards got off to a fast start in the first quarter by taking the lead 14-0. Bart Tanski hit Brandon James on a 47 yard strike to start the scoring. It was followed by a Ryan Dugan 65 yard interception return for a TD. After Mentor's 14 points, St. Ignatius rang up the next 27 points in the game to give the Cards their first loss of the season (3-1 record). Join us next week as Mentor plays Massillon Washington High School at home in Jerome T. Osborne Stadium. The 7:30 kickoff is predicted to be a sell out so get there early! GO CARDS.
