The Mentor Cardinals continued their winning ways by defeating the Warren
Harding Raiders 34-24 taking them to the state semi-final game. Of the 116
Division 1 football schools in Ohio, MENTOR HAS REACHED THE FINAL 4 !!! The
Cards started their scoring with a 1 yard TD run by Bill Deitmen. With :30
left in the 1st half, Bart Tanski hit Brandon James with a 4 yard TD missile
giving the cards a 13-10 lead at half. Deitmen then ran his second TD of
the game (24th on the season) on a 4 yard run. Tanski then hit James for a
44 yard score. Tanski threw his 3rd TD of the night in the 4th quarter to
Tyler Schutz for 21 yards. STAT OF THE GAME: Mentor has been a first half
scoring team all season. But, their 21 second half points against Warren
Harding (and in the Solon playoff game) is the most they have scored in the
second half this season ... thus adding to the excitement of playoff
football. Let's do it again next Saturday on the road to the state
championship. Stay tuned for the details on the time & location. GO CARDS!
