Lesson Description:
In order to maximize the brain development of a child, adolescent parents need to learn how to stimulate their childs brain development by interpreting and responding appropriately to the childs intellectual signals, behaviors and communications.
Using classroom resources, the student will:
- Reflect on his/her role as an effective parent and list at least 5 tips for effective parenting.
- Access understanding about literacy and brain development by completing the brain quiz.
- Record the present progress of his/her child by using the developmental growth chart provided in the lesson.
- Discover and practice activities that stimulate brain development and interest in reading.
- Practice reading to his/her child daily.
- Choose and evaluate three childrens books based on the guidelines provided.
