The Top 25 is a select group of students from the Vocal Music Department at Mentor High School in Mentor, Ohio. The singers are chosen for their singing and performance ability. They present a program of show tunes, popular music, and contemporary songs. The Top 25 presents its varied style of music with staging routines. The show is a continuous series of music supplemented by synthesizer and drums. Presently in its thirtieth year of performing, The Top 25 has become a popular entity in the northeastern section of Ohio. The singers present programs for clubs, banquets, church organizations, conventions, and schools. The Mentor Top 25 inaugurated its touring schedule in the spring of 1973 when the group was invited to Washington, D.C., where they performed at a party honoring Don Shula, for the National Press Club, on the steps of the Capitol, and at the Soldiers and Sailors Home. In 1975, the group was selected as the performing group for the International Kiwanis Convention held in Atlanta, Georgia. In the summer of 1980, Mentor's Top 25 participated in the International Hawaiian Festival. They traveled to the East coast of the United States in 1982 presenting shows in Philadelphia, Washington, DC., Florida, and Georgia.

While touring California and Arizona during 1986, Top 25 sang for Navy personnel in San Diego, tourists at Disneyland, Knottsberry Farm, The Queen Mary, Grand Canyon, and a final performance for over a thousand senior citizens in Sun City, Arizona. The Colorado Rockies were the scene of the 1993 tour. The Top 25 was a regular performing group for the Variety Club Telethon on Channel WUAB in Cleveland. In 1975, the Top 25 was awarded first place for their commercial arrangement of the Savings and Loan tune which was then broadcast allover northern Ohio. The singers presented a learning session at the State Convention of the American Choral Director Association in 1976. The Top 25 was selected to perform in1977 and 1985 for the Ohio Music Educators' Convention. The group has also presented shows in 1977 and.1979 for the late Fred Waring and the Waring Summer Workshops. The Mentor Top 25 was honored in May, 1993 by the Mentor Chamber of Commerce as "The Organization of the Year". This season, the group has performed at the State Theater in Cleveland with Barry Manilow and with the holiday performance, "Colors of Christmas". In the summer of 1977, the group traveled to Mexico where they participated in an International Music Festival. While in Mexico, the singers performed in Joiutla, Oaxtepec Theater, The National Cathedral, and The National Art Gallery.

The final performance was in Chapultepec Park, where the young singers entertained over 7,000 enthusiastic Mexican listeners. In 1984 and 1987, the Top 25 traveled to Canada performing in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, and Quebec. Mentor Top 25 were featured performers at British Columbia's Music '91. Continuing international tours, the Top 25 has traveled to Europe during the summers of 1978, 1981, 1990, and 1994 where they have performed in England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Germany. The Scandinavian people of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway honored the Top 25 on their 1983 tour with large, enthusiastic crowds. The group toured the southern portion of England in 1985 and were honored to present a program for the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth and his honored guests. The singers also performed on the BBC radio shows originating from Bristol and presented a program in Royal Festival Hall in London. Once again, Mentor's ambassadors traveled to Scandinavia during June, 1988 where they spent the major part of their tour in Finland. A formal greeting by the Town Crier and Lord Mayor of Liandrindod Wells followed by a special program with the Rhayader Welsh Choir and a local high school choir was a highlight of the Top 25 1989 tour to Wales and southern England. In June of 1992, the group was invited to perform for Floriade, a world wide horticulture exhibit held every ten years in a European city.
