The Top 25 Show Choir is a select group of students from the Choral Music Department at Mentor High School. The singers are chosen by audition in the spring for their singing, dancing and performance abilities. The Show Choir was founded in 1965 and is now in its thirty-eight year of performances serving Lake County and the northeastern areas of Ohio. The group performs regularly for community events, schools, church organizations, banquets, business meetings and at festivals in northeast Ohio.

Though the group has been around for 38 years it is in only its fourth year of competing. Performing tours in the United States have included travel to major cities on the east coast, west coast, and in between. They have traveled to Canada, Mexico, and many European countries, including Scandinavia, England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and have been the featured performers on two performance cruises in the Carribean.

Without losing it's initial purpose as the primary public relations group of the Mentor School system, the group has expanded its goals to include national, regional and state competitions. They are choreographed by Mike Weaver and are also under the assistant direction of Tara Tober. At competition they have won awards for Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Show Design, Best Costumes and have made finals in 10 out of the 12 competitions attended. They also won the Grand Champion award at the FAME competition in Branson, MO. Other sites have included Findlay, Twinsburg, Cuyahoga Falls, and Akron, Ohio, Chicago, IL and Nasville, TN. This year they will travel to five competiyion in Ohio.
