1996-1997 Mentor Top 25

Spencer Cahoon,
a senior at Mentor High School is currently in his third year of Top 25. In his spare
time, he enjoys working with Mentor Theatre, ice skating and biking. He is planning to
attend Marquette Universityto pursue a degree ib electrical engineering.
Catie Rawley,
is a third year member of Top 25 and a senior this year. Catie is a member of Community Service
and has spent much of the last 12 years in the study and performance of Irish Dancing. After high
school, Catie is going to attend Heidelburg College and major in music. She would like to take
this opportunity to thank her parents, friends and past and present partners Spencer and Toey
for all their continued love and support.
Brian Beltzer,
is a senior and in his second year with Top 25. Brian is a dance captain this year. At
Mentor High School, Brian participates in community service and in intramural basketball. After
high school, Brian will attend Ohio University and major in law with a minor in music.
Stacy Firman,
is a senior and in her second year with Top 25. She is recording secretary of student council
and a high school DARE role model. She is a member of Model UN, Future Leaders of America,
National Honor Society, Community Service Club, A Capella Choir and is involved in the spring
musical CRAZY FOR YOU. She has been accepted to Miami University and will major in business.
High School has been a great experience and a lot of fun for Stacy, but she looks forward to
moving on! She thanks her family for their love and support over the years.
Theresa Fitzpatrick,
is a senior this year and in her second year of Top 25. She is involved in ASF and is the Vice President of Mentor Theatre. She
enjoys playing the piano, daydreaming, listening to music and just having a good time. she would like to tell her family, friends and
kindreads, "Thank you for putting up with me. I know I can be hard to handle sometimes. I love you and I will always remember what
you've meant to me. Enjoy life while you have it and may the faeries watch ovef you."
Julie Triozzi,
is a senior and enjoying her second year in Top 25. She is an active member on Mentor High School's drama program, A.F.S.
and National Honor Society. She plans to attend the Franciscan University of Steubenville and hopes to major in elementary
education. She would like to thank her family for all their love.
Becky Spieth,
is a senior and second year member of Top 25. She sings soprano in A Cappella Choir and in her church choir as well. She enjoys helping
out with her church's Sunday preschool program, playing the piano, reading and listening to music. Becky is a member of National
Honor Siciety and was recently named a Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship program. This fall, she hopes to attend the
Rochester Institute of Technology or Case Western, majoring in polymer chemistry.
Beth Connolly,
is a junior and currently enjoying her second year as an alto in the group. Her interests include music,
theater, writing and the outdoors. At school, Beth is involved in Future Leaders, Community Service, Key Club and
National Horon Society. In her free time, which is rare, Beth keeps busy by working paer time, and by
spending time with friends and family. Beth plans to attend a small liberal arts college where
she hopes to major in communications.
Mark Vollmer,
is a senior in his 2nd year of Top 25. He is in A Cappella Choir, Wind Ensamble, and in "Crazy for You."
He also sings with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus, and plays trombone in the Jakeland Jazz Impact.
He is a member of Settlement Jazz Orchestra, the Tri-C High School All-star Jazz Band and the Cleveland Youth
Wind Symphony. He hopes to attend Baldwin-Wallace College and later, Berklee College of Music to earn a
graduate degree, hoping someday to be the director of his own professional jazz ensemble and recording
artist.
Will Hale,
is a junior in his second year of Tor 25. He is a tenor in the group as well as in A Cappella Choir He is looking forward to going on
tour with the group this summer. He plans to go to college after graduation, and probably major in music or education,
though he has not decided what school he will attend.
Aimee Hutton,
is currently a junior and in her second year of Top 25. She is a member of Mentor High School Key Club, Future Leaders
of America, and is a board member of the Community Service Club. She is also active in her church choir. Aimee participated in Mentor
Schools Strategic Planning Committee. This committee assesses the changes made in the school system's curriculum and
policies. Whatever Aimee does in life (probably politics), she knows it will hace nothing to do with Chemistry!
Allen Kellogg,
is a junior at Mentor High School. He has been with Top 25 for two years. Allen has been very active in Mentor Theatre
and coaches hockey. He aspires to be an actor od comedian. In his spare time he writes scripts, does sketch comedy and sleeps.
Dave Lucas,
is a junior enjoying his second year with Top 25. Dave sings baritone for the group and plays keyboard as well.
He is a member of A Cappella Choir, Renaissance, and was recently accepted into the National Honor Society. During
the summer he has volunteered at Camp Sue Osborn, where he works with handicapped children. In his spare time Dave
enjoys playing the piano, listening to music and spending time with his friends. He plans to attend a four year
college after graduating from Mentor High School.
Caryn Mahmet,
is a junior and has participated in Top 25 for the past two years. She is proud to be a dance captain this year.
She is actively involved with Mentor Theatre and has taken jazz dance classes at the Willoughby School of Fine Arts
for five years. She plans to pursue a career in music and hopes to continue dancing as long as possible. She wishes to
thank her parents and friends for all their support.
Anthony (Toey) Munson
a junior, is currently enjoying his second year in Top 25. He sings baritone in the group as well as in
Men's Chorus and in A Cappella Choir. He is in National Honor Society, Student Council, Future Leaders, and intramurals at the
high school. He was a member of the Varsity Soccer Team and is now on the tennis team as well. He also
enjoys playing softball and indoor soccer, and singing in his church choir. His plans for the future are
not definite yet.
Emily Wearstler,
is a junior and second year member of Top 25. She sings alto in the group as well as in A Cappella Choir.
Emily plans to attend college after next years's graduation and major in business. She enjoys performing with
the Top 25 and is looking forward to another great year with the group.
Surajit Sen,
is a senior and in his first year in Top 25. Surajit is also involved in Mentor Theatre, Orchestra, Model U.N.,
Future Leaders of America, and Community Service Club. He will pareticipate in the Foreign Exchange Program to Spain.
Surajit plans to go to Northwestern University, majoring in Chemical Engineering.
Kate Schick,
is a senior participating in her first year of Top 25. She is an accompanist for the group. She has no
definite plans for her future as yet. Isn't it more fun that way? She is thankful that her parents have always made it possible to
pursue music. Eat a codfish, please.
Karen Gravagna,
is in her first year with Top 25 as a Junior. At school she is a member of A Cappella Choir in which she sings first soprano.
Outside of school she is very active with her youth choir at church. She has taken voice lessons through Willoughby
School of Fine Arts. In her spare time she loves to bicycle and talk on the phone with friends. In the future Karen
plans to go to college and major in music education
John Kraker,
is in his first year of Top 25 as a junior. He sings tenor. He enjoys sports and participates in intramural basketball and
soccer. John wants to continue with the Top 25 and hopes to major in broadcasting in college.
Mike Robertson,
is a junior and first year member of Top 25. He sings Tenor. Mike is in both a Cappella Choir, and Wind
Ensemble and active in drama too. He plays trumpet and guitar. College is in his future, though he does enjoy the
unpredictable things in life.
Pam Slea,
is a junior in her first year with Top 25. She sings alto and is in A Cappella Choir as well. She says she has lots of free time and enjoys a very vivid imagination. In
the future, she plans to spread her love around the world and unite the nations. In reality though, she may settle
for something less glamorous.
Igor Strmac,
is a junior, and this is his first year with Top 25. He is one of the drummers for the group. He is also in Symphonic Band.
Igor is on the Mentor High Soccer team. He enjoys working with computers in his free time. He plans to continue his
education by poing to college and majoring in Computer Science.
Amanda Wagner,
is a junior and first year member of Top 25. She sings soprano with A Cappella choir and alto with Top 25. Amanda
is an active member of Mentor Theatre. Outside of school she studies tap at Fairport Dance Academy, and voice at the Cleveland
Institute of Music. She enjoys playing the piano, and can't wait for warmer weather to start water skiing. As for the future,
she hopes to attend a big city college and study musical theatre. She wishes to thank her parents, grandparents and
fanily for all their support.
Sara Al-Doory,
is a sophomore at M.H.S. This is her first year in Top 25. She loves theater and tries to be actively
involved all year long in Mentor Theatre arts program. She studies voice at Willoughby School of Fine Arts.
When she graduates, she plans to go to college but is futuristically challenged at the moment.
John Babuder,
is currently a sophomore in his first year with Top 25 as one of our drummers. He played J.V. Soccer this Fall.
Outside of Top 25, he enjoys listening to the Beatles, Gin Blossoms, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, and
the Dave Matthews Band.
Bill Bambic,
is a sophomore and first year member. He sings tenor with Top 25 and in Mixed Chorus. He enjoys sports, his
friends, and show choir camp. At this time his plans for the future are open-ended.
Melissa Barrow,
is enjoying her first year as a sophomore member of the Top 25. She sings soprano in the group and in
Mixed Chorus. Music is a major part of her life. Melissa has been playing the piano for ten years and is
an accompanist for the group. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends. After
high school, Melissa plans to attend college with a major in music education as she pursues her
dream of one day having a choir of her own.
Melissa Burkhart,
is a sophomore and in her first year with Top 25. During this school year, she has participated in
Drama, Choir, anf Fine Art. She enjoys drawing, painting, singing, writing and most other
creative arts. She plans to go to a college with a good Fine Arts program.
Laurie Goetz,
a sophomore, is enjoying her first year as a member of Top 25. She sings soprano and accompanies the group
and Mixed Chorus. In her spare time, Laurie enjoys playing the piano, guitar and listening to Garth Brooks.
In the future, Laurie plans to attend a four year college and though she is still uncertain of her
major, she knows that music will always be an important part of her life.
Tony Gonzalez,
is a sophomore at MHS. He is enjoying his first year with the group and is proud to be one of this
years's dance captains. Tony is involved with Mentor Theatre and Future Leaders. In his spare time he enjoys
playing the piano, dancing, singing and having lots of fun. Tony's plans for the future include
auditioning for shows at Cedar Point, and attending school in New York City to major in either dane, music, Drama or (D.) all of
the above.
Thom Griffith,
is enjoying his first year with Top 25 as a sophomore. He sings tenor. He also participates in football,
wrestling and basevall and is an honor student. Thom is vice-president of the sophomore class of 1999 and
is involved with Community Service and leadership activities. He plans to continue with singing throughout
high school and is planning to attend West Point or a private college.
Jennifer Jones,
is a sophomore and enjoying her first year with Top 25. At school, she finds herself extreamely busy
participating in Mentor Theatre, Student Council, Futute Leaders, Community Service Club and of course music.
In the future, Jennifer plans to pursue her dream of becoming a pediatrician. She would like to thank
her family and friends fof their continued love and support.
Kevin Pavlik,
is enjoying his first year as a member of Top 25. He is a sophomore, sings baritone in Mixed Chorus, and was
previously a member of Voice Mail at Ridge. Kevin enjoys playing piano and guitar and singing and acting.
He most recently appeared as Seymore Krelborn in the production of Little Shop of Horrors at the Andrews School. In the
future, Kevin plans to attend college in Boston or New York, majoring in musical theater.
Matt Rodriguez,
a 16 year old sophomore at Mentor High is a first year member of Top 25. He is passionately devoted to acting
and has been in several shows this year. West Side Story, Meet Me In St. Louis, Arsenic and Old Lace, A Christmas
Carol, The Bald Soprano and is currently in Crazy For You. He loves to perform and would like to further his career in theater. He
thanks his family and friends for their support and God for his talents.
Alicen Williams,
ia a sophomore at Mentor High School. She has been in Top 25 for an interesting year. She enjoys rollerblading and skating with her
friends and her work at Perkins. She has been very busy trying to keep her grades up in school. She
plans to go to a four year college and become a physical therapist.
